For the graduates

What a relief! Soon I'll be able to appreciate literature properly.

Dr. Watson likes to say that great literature is written by middle-aged people, for middle-aged people. I was worried until you explained when "middle age" starts.

And some of us are really BAD at reading, so it's nice.

If "middle-aged" weren't so pejorative a term, I would wholeheartedly agree with Dr. W.

Graduation leads one into a long stretch of no one caring how old you are. The next time is pretty much when you're trying to get Social Security or order off the senior menu.
